Conversations with Inspirational women
Finding someone to mentor you these days is not easy. Everyone is so busy trying to juggle their own lives and careers, that those who would have made great mentors have little time or energy to share advice that might help you to develop your career.
Can you imagine what it would be like if, instead of having just one mentor, 12 successful career women would each share their wisdom with you?
Well, that is exactly what I have planned for you. Starting in May 2008, I will interview one inspirational woman every month. I will ask all the questions you've been dying to ask and more that you may not have even thought of yet.
Best of all, these speakers don't even want to sell you anything. They are women just like you - women who have successful careers and would like to give something back to their sisters. By sharing what they have learned along the way, they hope to shine a little light on the more difficult aspects of your particular career journey.
This month I will be having a conversation with Sandra Schwimbersky.
Sandra Schwimbersky, 31, studied International Business and Economics at Innsbruck University, Austria and Stirling University in Scotland. After graduating with a master's degree in 2002, she followed her passion for academic research and policy consulting for four years, working for the European Commission as well as universities and research bodies all over Europe. In 2006 she joined a multinational oil and energy corporation in a business development position in London and, earlier this year, transferred to Germany with the same company.
Sandra has achieved an excellent position and garnered much respect in an industry that traditionally would be considered very much a boys club, and she has a lot of great insights to share with you.
